Oxymitter 4000
Explore the measurement. Understand the signal.
Educational simulation only. No connection to equipment. Values and actions are simulated; this is not commissioning, maintenance, or process-control guidance.
Rev AE · Nov 2024Set the conditions
Change one input. Watch the signal.
Your hypothetical process input, not a combustion model.
Startup is stepped explicitly. No heating curve is assumed.
Power off to change hardware settings. §3.4.2, pp. 67–68.
Output & loop settings
Loop supply availability and wiring are not simulated. §3.4.1–2.
Linear scaling
Manual table value at 736°C and 20.95% reference O₂.
Table 8-1 · pp. 107–108 ↗O₂ → current
Linear signal scalingI = 4 + 16 × (O₂ / 10)0–10% O₂Follow a two-gas calibration
Explore CAL states and track versus hold. Every timer is advanced by you.
8% and 0.4% are illustrative concentrations from the manual's test-point examples, not prescribed gas settings. Input-to-reading changes are idealized snapshots, not gas transport.
No slope, cell constant, or acceptance test is calculated. The selected result is an educational scenario.
The manual calls for control-loop handling before calibration. This simulator does not operate a control loop, gas supply, or sequencer. Consult the complete manual and site procedures for real work.
Ready to begin
Browser controls simplify the documented sequence. They are not a replica of the physical keypad. Flash patterns are described; blink durations are not invented.
No accepted scenario yet. Invalid and aborted calibrations retain the previous record.
Read the state before the number
Explore one documented fault at a time. Physical causes are not calculated.
Faults marked self-clearing clear after simulated cause removal. Others remain until reset by a simulated power cycle. No repair procedure is provided.
Logical assignment only. Electrical polarity, relay behavior, low-O₂ thresholds, and handshake timing are not emulated. The manual specifies +5 Vdc with 340 Ω series resistance.

An isolated interface exercise. It does not lock the lab controls.
Top left → top right → bottom left → bottom right.
30 seconds is the manual's default lockout interval. This exercise advances it on demand.

What this lab models
Deliberate boundaries
- Steady signal scaling uses the documented proportional 4–20 mA relationship. Values outside the configured span are withheld; no saturation behavior is invented.
- Cell mV uses exact entries from Table 8-1 at 736°C and 20.95% reference oxygen. Other concentrations show no table value. No interpolation or fitted cell constant.
- Time advances by explicit actions. Startup is approximately 30 minutes in the manual, with no thermal ramp modeled. Calibration sampling defaults to 5 minutes; purge defaults to 3 minutes.
- Calibration has selected valid/invalid results. There is no synthetic slope, constant, degradation model, or proof of real calibration validity.
- Faults are injected one at a time. No numerical fault thresholds, simultaneous-alarm priority, wiring faults, or repair actions are assumed.
- Physical behavior such as furnace chemistry, temperature response, reference-air loss, diffusion blockage, gas mixing, and external loop supply failure is outside this model.
- Controls are learning controls, not a complete LOI, HART, AMS, or membrane-keypad emulator. Xi electronics and other probe/converter variants are excluded.
Table 2-8 and §5.2.2 say this alarm was disabled/discontinued in 2014. Other passages retain historical references. It is not generated here. Logic modes containing it are labeled as legacy references.
The §3.4.3 text contains a duplicated TP6 reference. This lab uses the consistent TP5/TP6 descriptions in §5.2.3–4; it does not turn that typo into wiring guidance.
